1. I found it interesting how Goldstein said that War was not the desperate struggle to annihilate your enemy anymore. But now it was a War where the combatants were unable to destroy each other and they had no material cause for fighting each other.
2. I also found it interesting how War was continuous. This resulted in it ceasing to be dangerous.
3. The idea of there being no laws in Oceania was also really cool. The idea of there being no laws because there was no need for them was fascinating.

The three quotations/lines that I found interesting in 1984 are as follows:
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
I thought that these three lines were very interesting because of how a world can be created in which everything is backwards and everything can have a double meaning in which the original meaning becomes pointless. War can be seen as peace, as demonstrated in the novel when it talks about how war is continuous, so it is not noticeable any longer. The book also says how slavery in society can be seen by the people as a way to give them freedom. Finally, the book says how the people being ignorant can provide strength, when the strength is actually given to the government and used to control the people.

1. I found it interesting on pg. 168 when he says, “…such acts as raping, looting, the slaughter of children, … are looked upon as normal,…”. I think I found it interesting because it is son different from what life is really like and in a way it is what Orwell thought the future would be like making it even more interesting.
2. I also found it interesting how he says that life without war would be just the same as life is with war, because no one ever wins. Therefore, if they weren’t at war the only difference would be that people weren’t being killed.
3. The other part I found really interesting was how he says the Proles would only become “dangerous if the advance of industrial technique made it necessary to educate them more highly”. This just shows even more so how controlled life is even for the Proles.

(184-195). I found it interesting that in the book it says "the primary aim of modern warfare was to use up the products of the machiune without raising the general standard of living". I like this quotation because it shows and tells a little about society in the book and what and how they are controlled and what there goals are in warfare. I find it interesting that they create a demand for the product and act as if there was a demand for products but in reality there is no demand but infact a surplus.
(196-208)i found this interesting that in the book it is said thast"jews, negroes, soth americans of pure indian blood can be found in the highest ranks of the party". I it is interesting that even in this hardcore and strange society they are not racist abut fair and allow all races to be in power.
(209-217)on 209 it says" the essence of oligarchical rule is not father-to-son inheritance, but the persistence of a certain world-view and a certain way of life, imposed by tyhe dead upon the living". I find it interesting that they describe the entire society very well in this statement. I shows how the ideas that everyone believes in are very real and are present in society but there are no living people to attach these ideas to therefore the society cant blame or attasck and one individual.
