At the end I think that Winston is shot, because in the novel on page 281 it says "One day they would decide to shoot him. You could not tell when it would happen, but a few seconds before hand it should be possible to guess. It was from behind, walking down a corridor." Then it is said on the last page, page 297 says "He was walking down the white-tiled corridor, with the feeling of walking in sunlight, and an armed guard at his back. The long-hoped-for bullet was entering his brain." That is why I think that Winston dies at the end of the novel right when you close your book.

I believe at the end of novel Winston is killed. I think this could go two different ways when “he loved big brother (pg.297)” he as Winston is literally shot. Or I think it could mean that at that moment Winston died as an individual he is a comrade and all the work O’Brien has put in to clear his head has now worked.
Also, I think he might have been shot because Orwell states what a martyr**(don’t know how to spell that)** is and because he states what it is that Winston died the biggest rebel.

i think that in the end of the book Winston does not die but infact lives for a while because when Obrien says" In the end they will shoot you" i believe that the party would not kill him that soon. Mostly because i think that the end is when the party knows they have one and see proof that they have broken and made a loyal person to the party. I believe that the party would wait a few years so thast they could watch and see Winston as a changed person and after a while if he still shows singsw ofr rebelling then i think ther would decide to kill him. I think when in the end of the book when it says he walked down the corridor and it says he felt the bullet in the back of his head isd what winston is imagening because that is what he wants. He wants do die being arebel and he feels that if he continues to live in the society that the party may win.

I don't think Winston would die in the end of the novel. Since in the end of the novel, he said "He loved Big Brother"pg.297
Even though in the novel pg.287"One day they would decide to shoot him. You could not tell when it would happen, but a few seconds before hand it should be possible to guess. It was from behind, walking down a corridor." Also the main idea of the toture is to make Winston love Big Brother. In the end of the novel, Winston already show that he love Big Brother, and he thinks BB is the one who can protecter him.But I have different people have different ending , I think that's why George Orwell didn't tell us did Winston die or not.

I think that Winston would be shot. But he wouldn’t be shot for a while. "One day they would decide to shoot him.” Since they say “one day,” I’m assuming that it wouldn’t come for a while. I can not say when they would shoot him though, but it would come soon. The reason they would wait, is because Winston said that he loved Big Brother.
