Thanks to 2 great weeks in a row, I'm going to give everyone a 'break' this week. There are NO on-line entries for this week. Concentrate on your other work -- reading A Tale of Two Cities & Othello research -- for class.
At the same time, there will be a WordMasters Vocab Challenge on Monday, April 21
in class. For those who may have forgotten, this is a new story you'll
read for the first time in class so that you can answer a series of
multiple choice questions. Top scores will be submitted nationally (as
we've been doing all year). Here is the list. Only study the words
that seem unfamiliar.
"What, he's making us watch another video? Didn't I mention to him 2 weeks ago that I hate, hate, hate the videos because they're too long and they make my eyes water with boredom and I'd rather be forced to floss an angry saber toothed tiger than have to watch yet another one?"
So, what can he be talking about?
Well, here's the deal. This week's vocab story is going to be based on describing the following video.
Even better:the video is only 3 min 44 seconds long. Heck, it takes you longer to find your purple English text book each morning to see if you can suddenly cram in homework reading before class.
Even better: The performer -- Kenichi Ebina -- is a hip hop master, a break dancing deity, and a fluid-god-of-movement that truly defies the eyes. And the dude seriously rocks.
Challenge:
Watch the video. Maybe 2 or 3 times. It's that cool. Trust me.
Using 10 of the 20 words you found at the top of the page, write a reaction to what you saw, create a story, or develop an 'advertisement' convincing others to come see Kenichi Ebina perform.
And then watch it again. Why? 'cause it's just that cool!
