Purpose:
Students have been asked to respond to a variety of questions/posts -- as well as their classmates'/teacher's comments -- to explore literature-based questions and creative writing prompts throughout the '08 Spring Semester.
Content:
Texts selected from this semester will range from a collection of pieces by the Romantic poets, Shakespeare's Macbeth and Othello, Dickens' Tale of Two Cities, to Orwell's 1984.
We may also attempt to connect to works read earlier in the year. Students read Beowulf, portions of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Golding's Lord of the Flies, and Shelley's Frankenstein during the 1st Semester, as well as completed Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray and Paton's Cry, The Beloved Country for summer reading.
Additional works or response ideas may be used as well.
