How Many Books Would It Take to Change the World?

Bookcover_1Want to wish John Wood all the best now that his book, Leaving Microsoft to Change the World: An Entreprenuer's Odyssey to Educate the World's Children, has been officially released as of last night.

He surprised me with an email the other day after learning that I had mentioned his writing and the inspired work he continues to do in support of Room to Read, the organization he started to open schools and libraries around the world.

Having finished the book in 2 sittings a few days ago after a kind soul at Harper Collins (Thanks, Felice!) sent me an advance copy, I was won over time and time again as I read through his story.

Roomtoread_1The mission of the organization will do that by itself.  The book, however, feels like a handshake from a good friend who looks you deep in the eyes and asks you, What do you plan to do with your life?

Wood is one of the few that backs up a dream with undenied execution.  And the doors are wide open to lend a hand, a book, or a check!

Go grab a copy.  And take a look at the Room to Read site.  Expect to be inspired.

And prepare to get involved!
