Hey, I'm not saying that schools should necessarily follow the lead of 'business' in terms of all ways to be forward-thinking and digitally enhanced. Each has a different 'mission', let alone a different bottom line. Just not a fair comparison on too many levels.
That being said, when a fella and his family are driving their Volvo wagon through west Texas towns on vacation and manage to hit more free WiFi offers than armadillos, it does make you wonder why schools still lag so far behind in terms of regular WiFi access for their kids/teachers.
'cause, hey, if a west Texas interstate rest stop AND an Amarillo, TX steak joint famed for the "free 72oz steak" giveaway BOTH offer travelers free WiFi, then shouldn't our students/teachers have a fightin' shot at the same access?
