I spend most days working on behalf of school designers and architects.
The heart of that work lies in helping their respective communities accomplish great outcomes when they take on the challenge of designing and constructing new school facilities. So often it can be easy to focus on the 'facility', first and foremost. What I find time and time again is that the building is merely a vehicle for something more profound, merely a chapter in a longer and on-going story.
To this end, I am always fascinated by architects who are also great storytellers.
This not only makes for better reading when diving into trade journals and project award winning narratives and listening to conference presentations. But it also guarantees an improved 'spirit of collaboration' when the designer/expert is working in partnership with the client and school community.
Much to my pleasure today, I received the latest e-newsletter from M. J. Neal, an architecture firm located in Austin, Texas that demonstrated in real time that architects can not only be storytellers but also have a ball doing so.
