Wonder what School 2.0 might look like?
Theory or reality?
While reading Will Richardson's post today, the following struck me as well-worth-waking-up-for:
The US Department of Education is here talking about an interesting vision for “School 2.0″that it’s been working on, and as you can see by the picture, they seem like they are on the right track.
I actually had the chance to talk with Tim Magner yesterday who is the Director of the Office of Educational Technology for the DOE and he is really passionate about starting conversations about different models and different visions for schools.
I can’t tell you how pumped I am about that development.
Could the federal government actually be standing on the front edge of possibility? Could they?
This is really interesting. Wouldn't it be incredible to have Internet 2.0 schools all over the country, and world. Imagine the creative collaboration that this type of infrastructure would promote. I wrote a blog entry on Internet 2.0 schools at my own blog yesterday. Take a look at it. http://www.pass-ed.com/2006/07/technology-in-classroom.html
