I'm laughing at the idea that 10 mile walks will be the norm... try telling that to everyone driving to the end of the road!

The cynic in me would predict that schools in 100 years will look exactly the same as they did 50 years ago. Rooms of kids in straight rows of desks with a teacher in front lecturing.

The optimist in me expects that the upheaval in the way information is created and consumed that we are going through now will force major changes in the way we educate children (and adults).

It would be nice if we could take our students, poor or not, on trips to all parts of the world (even virtually). First, however, we must get past our need for absolute and total control of what material moves in and out of the classroom.
